This limited edition, hand printed A4 print features the poem of Hubert Gregg "Maybe It's Because I'm a Londoner" and has been printed using metal and wooden type in black and blue onto 100% cotton paper (A4 size). The Making Process
This print was made using vintage wooden type - printed in blue and black to create "London" and the poem was printed using metal type. These were hand printed onto an A4 (297 x 210mm) 100% cotton paper using a century old letterpress. Each piece of card is fed through the press, piled and packaged by hand. Each colour is printed one at a time. The finished product is well worth the hard work and elbow-grease: a luxurious card with ornate designs impressed on the surface. Letterpress is a craft and therefore each print can vary so that each one is unique. Any slight imperfections are part of the charm of the letterpress process.
Prickle Press is committed to using eco-friendly inks, paper, packaging and cleaning materials, as well as producing products of exquisite quality. Both the card and envelope are FSC certified materials, which means they are sustainably sourced and won’t harm our lovely planet. The 360gsm 100% cotton paper is tree-free and made from the remnants of the cotton mills running in Britain.
